GOLDEN, Colo.—The University of Sioux Falls Men's Indoor Track and Field 4,000 meter Distance Medley Relay had an NCAA provisional time to highlight performances as split squads competed at Colorado Mines and Minnesota State on Friday.
Senior All-American
Mason Phillips, junior
Zach Lundberg, senior
Trey Furgeson, and senior
Billy Beseman were the members of the men's 4,000 meter DMR team that produced a NCAA provisional time of 10:17.57. The qualifying time converts to 9:53.82 and ranks fourth in DII this year. The USF DMR finished third overall at the Mines Invite behind Colorado Mines (10:09.61) and CSU-Pueblo (10:11.50).
USF preseason athlete to watch freshman
Casey Hackett finished runner up in the men's long jump with a final jump of 6.53 meters (21' 5.25"). Hackett was edged out by Colorado Mines jumper Connor Mclean, who posted a jump of 6.71 meters (22' 0.25").
Senior runner
Steven Brown was sixth in the men's 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:59.76. Sophomore
Chloe Peterson claimed ninth in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.38 meters (17' 8") to highlight the women's team performances at Colorado Mines.
MSU Mark Schuck Multi and Open Invitational day one highlights
After the end of the first day of the Minnesota State University Mark Schuck Multi and Open Invitational, the USF Men's Team is fourth with 18 total points, while the women's team is in a tie for seventh place with 10 points.
Junior
Tristan Zawadzki led USF on Friday with a first place vault of 4.58 meters (15' 0.25") for his third pole vault victory in the last three meets.
Freshman
David Ecker produced a fourth place finish in the men's 3,000 meter run with an overall time of 9:02.93.
Sophomore sprinter
Emily Olson competed in the women's pentathlon where she was fourth overall with 2,691 points. Olson had a third place time of 9.28 in the 60 meter hurdles for 852 points, sixth in the high jump with a 1.46 meter jump for 577 points, third in the shot put with a throw of 9.82 meters for 518 points, third in the long jump with a distance of 4.98 meters for 554 points, and fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:50.32 for 460 points.
USF runner Becca Goertzen was fifth in the 3,000 meter run at 10:47.66.
