BURNSVILLE, Minn. — University of Sioux Falls Track and Field's Taryn Ceglowski, who posted an NCAA DII provisional mark in the mile run, was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, according to a league announcement today.

A sophomore English major from Salida, Colo., Ceglowski posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 5:10.36 in the women's mile run at the Mines DII Invitational where she won the event by over three seconds. Ceglowski's converted time of 4:58.14 currently ranks 10th in NCAA DII and tops the NSIC this season. For Ceglowski, she earned her third overall NSIC Women's Athlete of the Week honor after receiving two honors this fall in cross country.
 
Earlier this year, Ceglowski was named the USF preseason track "Athlete to Watch." A year ago, when Ceglowski was named the second-ever USF female NSIC Indoor Track and Field Newcomer of the Year, she posted two top-three finishes last season to earn All-NSIC honors in the mile and the 1,500-meter run events in which she was also named all-region.

In her second year at USF, she has already set six women's school track and field records. She finished third in the 800 meters at the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships a year ago and qualified for the DII Championships. Ceglowski qualified for nationals in three different events last year in the 800-meter run, 1,500-meter run, and the mile run.

This past fall, she finished a program-best fifth and led the USF Women's Cross Country to a program-best fourth place finish at the NSIC Championships. Ceglowski, who has earned All-NSIC cross country honors in back-to-back seasons (second team, 2017; first team, 2018), advanced to the regional meet for a second straight season.

The USF Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams will compete on Saturday at the MSU Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato, Minn.
