DES MOINES, IOWA – The men's distance medley relay team of
Zach Lundberg,
Trey Furgeson,
Billy Beseman and
Mason Phillips set a new school record as the University of Sioux Falls Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams competed in the final day of the Drake Relays on Saturday (April 27).
USF was also scheduled to compete in the Gustavus Adolphus Drake Alternative Meet, but due to inclement weather the meet was cancelled.
USF's distance continent continued to shine with another big performance at the Drake Relays on Saturday, as the men's DRM squad of Lundberg, Furgeson, Beseman and Phillips took first with a school record time of 9:59.80. USF finished ahead of the NSIC squads from Minnesota State (third, 10:06.18), Concordia-St. Paul (fourth, 10:13.20) and Augustana (seventh, 10:16.28).
Also at the Drake Relays, the women's DRM relay team of
Taryn Ceglowski,
Jasmine Harris,
Sadie Thompson and Becca Goertzen took sixth overall in the event with a 12:49.17 clocking.
USF will next compete in the NSIC Outdoor Multi Championships beginning on Sunday, April 28 and concluding on Monday, April 29.
