BURNSVILLE, MINN. – After registering back-to-back shutouts, University of Sioux Falls Soccer senior goalkeeper
Alexis Wemhoff has earned her first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honor, according to an announcement today by the league office.

Wemhoff, who ranks second in the NSIC and 15th in DII in saves with 77, helped USF (2-8-3, 2-5-3 NSIC) to a 1-0-1 record this weekend at home. In recording back-to-back shutouts, the senior recorded 18 saves as USF had a 1-0 win over MSU Moorhead and 0-0 2 OT tie with Northern State. Wemhoff ranks high in three goalkeeping categories in NCAA DII. The senior from Columbus, Neb., is second in the nation and first in the NSIC with a 9.62 saves per game mark. She is also eighth in DII in save percentage at .906.
In goal for 200 minutes this weekend, Wemhoff held opponents off the scoreboard. She had 10 saves in 110 minutes against NSU and had eight saves in the win over MSUM. She is part of a goal keeping unit that ranks second in NCAA DII with 11.73 saves per match (prior to this weekend) and ranks 21st in save percentage.
The honor by Wemhoff is the first NSIC weekly honor by a USF Soccer student-athlete since goalkeeper

Wemhoff and her teammates will travel to face Minnesota Crookston on Friday in Crookston, Minn., at 3 pm. On Sunday, the Cougars face Bemidji State at 1 pm
