USF Track & Field Adds Lamer to Coaching Staff

SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls and the Director of Track & Field, Doug Petersen, are proud to announce the hiring of Kamberlyn Lamer as the new Assistant Track & Field Jumps coach.

"We are excited to have Kamber on our Coaching Staff," said Director of Track & Field, Doug Petersen. "She brings a wealth of knowledge in the jumping events to help our athletes get to the next level. She brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to her event group as well as the rest of the team."

Lamer joins the Cougars as a graduate from the University of South Dakota where she received her master's in Kinesiology and Sports Management. During her time there, she was a Summit League outdoor champion in the heptathlon as well as the Women's Outdoor Field MVP. As she excelled on the playing surface, she also excelled in the classroom where she was named to the All-Summit Academic League.

Prior to her time at USD, Lamer competed at Dakota Wesleyan University where she was a three-time conference champion and two-time national champion for the Tigers. Lamer was named the GPAC MVP Athlete of the Year as well as the GPAC Field Athlete of the Year in 2019. She was an All-American triple jumper with a mark of 39'5" as well as a two-time NAIA Field Athlete of the Year. Lamer graduated from Dakota Wesleyan in 2019 with her bachelors in Sports Exercise and Wellness.

"I want to thank the coaching staff for having faith in me to help grow the vertical and horizontals jumps here at USF," said Lamer. "I can't wait to get started and to make a coaching legacy for myself! I love everything about sports and coaching has been a long-loved passion of mine. Let's make some champions, Go COO!"

Following her graduation from USD in 2021, Lamer worked as a Rehab Specialist and Chiropractic Assistant for Sioux Falls Chiropractic where she helped write client rehabilitation plans. Lamer also worked as a Junior Olympics Volleyball coach while also helping at USF Track & Field camps. With a wide wellness and fitness background, along with an outstanding athletic resume, Lamer is sure to make an impact on the Cougar Track & Field program.
