ABERDEEN, S.D. -- At the first day of the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Aberdeen, S.D.,
Emily Swanson of the University of Sioux Falls Track and Field Team sits in third place after competing in four of the seven heptathlon events today.
With 2,820 points earned so far, Swanson currently sits in third place of the heptathlon event.
On the track, Swanson placed third in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 15.16 and earning 821 points. In the 200 meter dash, Swanson fifth with a clocking of 26.65 to earn 741 points.
In the field, Swanson placed fourth in the high jump, jumping 1.62m (5-03.75) for 759 points. In the shot put, Swanson threw a 9.52m (31-03.25) for a 12th place finish and 499 points.
Tomorrow, Swanson will wrap up the heptathlon with three more events, including the long jump, javelin, and 800 meter dash.
