Hertz, Hiatt, and Lindsey of USF Track & Field receive All-Region honors

New Orleans - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced today the 2022 NCAA Division II All-Region honorees. Three student-athletes from the University of Sioux Falls Track and Field team received this prestigious honor; Emma Hertz, Tyler Hiatt, and Kamry Lindsey.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors as well as each member of any top-3 ranked relay team.

Hertz, who also received the honor last year, recently capped off her collegiate career with a second team All-American performance at the NCAA DII Championships. Emma was honored for the shot put, discus, and hammer. She received All-American honors six times including both indoor and outdoor shot put this past season. During her career, Hertz accumulated 27 outdoor titles in the three events with 61 top-six finishes as well as five outdoor All-NSIC honors. In the shot put, she has the top-10 all-time throws at USF.

To conclude his freshman campaign, Hiatt earned All-Region honors in the shot put and discus. In his first outdoor season, he accumulated four titles and 12 top-three finishes between the shot put and discus throws. In the shot put, he set the top-six throws in school history with five of them clearing at least 55 feet. Hiatt placed second in the shot put at the NSIC Championship to garner All-NSIC honors before placing 17th at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships while being the only NSIC representative in the field. Tyler also competed at the NCAA DII Indoor Championship earlier this year.

With a personal best throw at the NSIC Championship propelling her to the national stage, true-freshman Kamry Lindsey competed at the DII Outdoor Championship and received her first All-Region honor in the discus. Her discus throw during the NSIC championship gave her second place in the event as well as second place in USF's record book. The throw also shot her to her first NCAA DII Outdoor Championship where she placed 15th. During the season, Lindsey claimed six top-five finishes including a title at the Nebraska-Kearney Loper Invite in April.
