USF Indoor Track & Field Closes out the weekend at SDSU Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational

BROOKINGS – The USF Track & Field team headed north to Brookings, SD Saturday afternoon to compete in the SDSU Jim Emmerich/Alumni Invitational held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

TRACK EVENTS

·       Ben Mandel took 7th in the men's 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.37 moving him into eighth all-time in the USF Men's Indoor record book. Mandel also ran a career best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.87.

·       Myah Roggenbuck ran a career best 60 meter dash with a time of 8.06. Roggenbuck also had a career best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.76.

·       Sierra Stanton ran a career best 400 meter race with a time of 1:05.03. Emily Swanson also ran a career best 400 meter race with a time of 1:00.92.

·       Caleb Roggenbuck finished 10th in the men's 600 meter run with a career best time of 1:27.22.

·       Cassidy O'Meara took 5th in the women's 800 meter run with a career best time of 2:16.49 placing her second in the USF Women's Indoor record books. Lily McCone also ran a career best in the women's 800 meter race with a time of 2:38.62.

·       Morgan Gehl finished 3rd in the women's 1 mile run with a career best time of 4:59.63. Gehl moved into second all-time in the indoor record book by surpassing her time of 5:03.03 set last season. Also with career bests in the 1 mile race were; Ella Kolb (5:37.30), Karlee Simmons (5:19.48), and Moriah Bullerman (5:42.03).

·    Jakob Hanna took 10th in the men's 1 mile run with a career best time of 4:08.33. Hanna beat his previous record time by .42 seconds and sits third in USFs indoor record books. Also with personal bests in the 1 mile race were; Caleb Rivera (4:22.21), Miles Olofson (4:27.83), and Lucas Steiger (4:58.37).

·      Khot Juac finished 8th in the women's 3000 meter run with a career best time of     10:10.21 marking the second fastest time set by a USF women's runner. Jessica Lutmer also ran a career best in the 3000 meter race with a time of 10:21.07 putting her fourth all-time.

·      Aaron Voigt ran a career best 3000 meter race with a time of 8:36.69. With this time, Voigt enters the top 10 for the USF men's 3000 meter run. Benjamin Morrison also finished the 3000 meter race with a career best time of 8:37.90.

FIELD EVENTS

·      Tyler Hiatt took 6th place in the men's weight throw with a throw of 17.71 meters. Hiatts throw falls just behind his career best thrown last season and currently holds the third and fourth best throws in USF Indoor history. Hiatt also picked up a 10th  place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.18 meters putting him seventh in the USF record books.

·       Emily Swanson placed 9th in the women's high jump with a height of 1.55 meters. 

·       Avery Bartunek took 10th  in the women's triple jump with a jump of 10.39 meters.
