VERMILLION, S.D. – The USF track & field team closed out the USD Early Bird meet held in Vermillion, South Dakota today.
Results from today's events
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Cougars 4x100 Meter Relay squad of
Myah Roggenbuck,
Natalie Meyers,
Grace Gioffredi, and
Tamia Horton took 5th with a time of 49.11
In the 100m hurdles
Kendall Anderson and
Sierra Stanton placed 27th and 28th in the prelims respectively with times of 16.11 and 16.22.
Annika Aho finished the 400 meter dash in 1:00.27 which was good for 16th place while
Holly Mayers took 39th in 1:03.89.
The 100m dash saw another top-10 time from the Coo with
Tamia Horton taking 8th behind a time of 11.96.
Grace Gioffredi,
Myah Roggenbuck, and
Taryn Rauk also competed in the event with the following respective times and placements: 12.39 - 19th, 12.78 - 38th, 13.28 - 53rd.
In the 200m dash
Natalie Meyers took 15th for the Coo as she finished in 25.34. The event featured five Cougars in total including
Myah Roggenbuck (26.65 - 49th),
Grace Gioffredi (26.77 - 51st),
Kendall Anderson (27.35 - 67th), and
Taryn Rauk (27.39 - 71st).
Six Cougars placed in the Shot Put:
Kayla Van Osdel (12.66m - 14th),
Kamry Lindsey (12.41m - 18th),
Delanie Van Driel (11.51m - 36th),
Nicole Flynn (11.31m - 38th),
Raygen Diede (11.19m - 40th),
Shelby Svien (10.89m - 47th).
In the hammer throw
Mackenzie Bengtson led the Coo with a 17th place finish on a 47.31m throw.
Kamry Lindsey placed 21st on a 45.55m toss while
Kayla Van Osdel and
Nicole Flynn recorded marks of 39.31m (41st) and 38.17m (46th) respectively.
Shelby Svien (37.58m - 53rd),
Delanie Van Driel (36.25m - 57th),
Olivia Baumberger (35.21m - 63rd) and
Raygen Diede (27.84m - 78th) rounded out the field for the Coo.
Natalie Meyers was the Cougars lone competitor in the Long Jump (non-heptathlon) and she placed 14th with a 5.45m jump.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The 4x100 meter relay saw the USF squad of
Aaron Monk,
Xavier Blackwell,
Cody Lustig, and
Joseph Donahue take 9th with a time of 43.59.
In the 110 meter hurdles prelims
Collin Dingsor took 12th in 15.41 as
Aaron Monk finished just behind him at 15.43 in 13th place.
Caleb Roggenbuck took 74th in the 400m dash with a time of 56.30.
Three Cougars competed in the 100m dash:
Joseph Donahue (10.76 - 22nd),
Xavier Blackwell (11.29 - 60th),
Aaron Monk (11.33 - 62nd)
In the 200m dash
Joseph Donahue took 39th in 22.37 while
Xavier Blackwell finished in 23.30 for 75th place.
Denver Decker claimed a top-10 spot in the javelin throw and his 49.19m toss placed 7th.
Marek Rex and
Cody Egger went 19th and 20th behind distances of 42.22m and 40.58m respectively.
Carson Hausmann rounded out the field for the Coo with his 26th place toss of 37.81m.
Tyler Hiatt added another Cougar top-10 finish with his 9th place, 47.96m, toss in the discus throw. The Coo saw four others compete in the event as well with
Cody Egger taking 33rd on a 42.47m throw,
Marek Rex landing 36th with 41.37 meters,
Jaymeson Wolkow hitting 40.49m for 38th and
Carson Hausmann coming in 56th behind a 36.21m launch.
The Coo will head to Azusa Pacific for the Bryan Clay Invitational next on the 13th.
