COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. - USF Men's Wrestling hit the road to Collegeville, Minnesota to compete in the Haws/Elton Rumble coming away with 13 place winners of which 6 were event champions.
At 125-pounds, Jaxton Packer picked up his first collegiate title finishing the day 4-0. Packer started the day with a 17-2 tech fall over Ben Cervantes of Nebraska Wesleyan followed by another 17-2 tech fall over Marcus Hayes of St. Johns and a 17-2 tech fall over Xavier Jones of St. Jones. In the championship match, Packer claimed the 125-pound crown with a 16-1 tech fall over Christopher McClanahan of Nebraska Wesleyan.
Brandon native, Jordon Oehme, picked up his first collegiate crown at 141-pounds finishing 3-0 on the day. Oehme claimed an 18-2 tech fall over Drake Buechler and a 7-1 decision over teammate Riley Fitzsimmons before capping off the day with a 17-2 tech fall over Jose De Los Santos of St. Johns.
At 157-pounds, Lincoln Fink claimed the third title of the day for The Coo. Fink opened the day with a 6:54 pin over Kris Castro of St. Johns followed by a 19-3 tech fall over Christian Keller of Nebraska Wesleyan and a 10-3 decision over Kaden Ontiveros.
Cooper Sanders picked up a 1st place finish at 165-pounds starting with a 10-3 decision over Seth Littrell of Nebraska Wesleyan. Sanders finished the day with a 7-2 decision over Logan Thorsten of St. Johns, a pin over Logan Hede of Nebraska Wesleyan and a 0:15 pin over Cale Mohan.
Grant Moraski added another championship title at 174-pounds with a 17-2 tech fall over Laiken Copeman of St. Johns and a 17-2 tech fall over Jon Gettel of St. Johns. Moraski took the 1st place match over St. Johns' Drew Lange with an 18-2 tech fall.
At 184-pounds, Daevon Vereen took the top spot with a 3-0 day. Vereen opened the day with a 2:03 pin over Braike Jones of Nebraska Wesleyan, a 1:21 pin over Bryce Commerford of St. Johns and a 17-1 tech fall over Wesleyans Sam Weaver.
