SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - (RV) Sioux Falls (7-3, 6-3 NSIC) will host Southwest Minnesota State (0-10, 0-9 NSIC) for their final regular season finale this weekend while recognizing 22 seniors for their heart a dedication to Cougar Football prior to kickoff.
QUICK HITS: Cougar Football enters the weekend following a 27-21 'road' loss to Augustana...Sioux Falls enters the weekend receiving votes in the AFCA poll and are also one of four NSIC teams to find themselves in the NCAA Regional Rankings released last week...The Cougar offense currently sits within the top-4 of the NSIC scoring chart while averaging 29.2 points per game while the Cougar D leads the conference in interceptions with 14 on the season.
MATCHUP HISTORY: Sioux Falls is 11-4 against Southwest dating back to their first matchup in 1968 when USF walked away with a 13-6 win over the Mustangs...Since entering the DII era, The Coo is 10-1 against the Mustangs with a home record of 5-0...Prior to Division II, USF found their only win against SMSU in 1968 before dropping the next three contests in 1969, 1978, and 1979.
THE LAST TIME: The Cougars fell to the Mustangs 28-10 on the road to close their 2023 season...USF gave up a big 21-point first half in Marshall and were unable to recover...
