MOORHEAD, MINN. – USF Men's Wrestling headed north to take on the Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers while ending the 2024 portion of their season with a 22-13 win.
The day started with three extra matches between Riley Fitzsimmons and Jackson Maar at 149-pounds, Joel Thompson and Nicholas Ankeny at 157-pounds and Jesse Garcia and Zach Carnes at 285-pounds. Thompson took an 8-7 decision while Garcia finished with an 11-0 major decision.
Starting at 133-pounds, #11 Beau Klingensmith took on Kie Anderson. Klingensmith was in control the whole match finishing with a 14-1 major decision to advance to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in dual settings.
Newly ranked #17 Jordon Oehme took on #8 Ty Bisek (11-1) at 141-pounds falling in an 8-0 decision. Oehme moves to 7-4 on the year and 3-3 in dual matchups.
At 149-pounds, Lane Fink defeated Jack Major in an 11-6 decision with seven crucial nearfall points in the third period. Lane moves to 10-8 on the season and 1-4 in dual matchups.
Lincoln Fink took on Alex McPhee at 157-pounds coming away with a 7-5 decision to give The Coo a 10-4 dual lead. Lincoln advances to 10-8 on the season and 2-4 in dual settings.
Cooper Sanders fell to Elijah Hunt in a 6-2 decision at 165-pounds. Sanders moves to 11-7 on the season and 2-4 in dual matchups.
At 174-pounds, Grant Moraski took on Zach Pribyl. Moraski opened the match with two quick takedowns before picking up a 14-7 decision over Pribyl to advance to 6-6 on the season and 2-2 in dual matchups.
Daevon Vereen took on Brody Duke at 184-pounds. Vereen also opened his match with two quick takedowns followed by a 2-point nearfall before tallying two more takedowns and a 2:15 pin. Vereen moves to 6-3 on the season and 1-1 in dual settings.
At 197-pounds Timothy Lacina took fell to William Freking in a 2:54 pin. Lacina falls to 1-6 on the season and 0-4 in dual matchups.
Isaiah Laguna took on Sam Dioszeghy at 285-pounds. Laguna finished with a 9-4 decision over Dioszeghy to advance to 9-6 on the season and 2-4 in dual settings.

USF will head to the John Hancock Duals, hosted by Colorado Mines, on January 4th to take on Belmont Abbey, Central Missouri and Colorado Mines. The Cougars will return to the Stewart Center on January 24th to host Minot State followed by UMary on the 25th.
