Oehme Claims First NSIC Win as USF Falls 46-4 to #1 St. Cloud State

ST. CLOUD, MINN. – (RV) USF Men's Wrestling finished their weekend at #1 St. Cloud State falling 46-4 to the Huskies and moving to 1-3 in duals on the year. 

Jaxton Packer opened the night at 125-pounds against #11 Connor Knopick. Knopick took the match with a 1:31 pin while Packer moves to 11-6 on the season, 2-2 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

At 133-pounds, Calvin Empkey took on #6 Sam Spencer falling in a 14-3 major decision.  Empkey moves to 2-3 on the season, 0-2 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents.  

Jordon Oehme secured the Cougars one win of the day with a 16-2 major decision over 2-time national qualifier Caleb Meekins at 141-pounds. Oehme moves to 7-2 on the season, 3-1 in dual settings and 1-1 against NSIC opponents.  

Lane Fink wrestled at 149-pounds for The Coo falling to #1 Colby Njos in a 12-2 major decision. Lane moves to 10-8 on the season, 0-4 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

At 157-pounds, Lincoln Fink took on #9 Joel Jesuroga resulting in a 5:31, 19-1 tech fall loss. Lincoln moves to 9-7 on the season, 1-3 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

Cooper Sanders fell to #1 Nick Novak at 165-pounds in a 1:34 pin. Sanders moves to 11-5 on the season, 2-2 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

At 174-pounds, Robert Solorio fell to #8 Bryce Dagel in a 1:54 pin. Solorio moves to 1-9 on the season, 0-2 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

Timothy Lacina wrestled up for USF at 184-pounds against Tyson Meyer falling in a 1:24 pin. Lacina moves to 1-4 on the season, 0-2 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

At 197-pounds, Stetson Davis took on #4 Dominic Murphy falling in a 3:44, 17-1 tech fall. Davis moves to 5-6 on the season, 1-3 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents. 

Isaiah Laguna closed out the night against #3 Le'Ron Parks falling in a 10-2 major decision. Laguna moves to 7-6 on the season, 0-4 in dual settings and 0-2 against NSIC opponents.
