VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls men's and women's indoor track & field teams continued the early-season push with a strong day of competition, highlighted by event wins, multiple top-five finishes, personal records, and two Division II nationally ranked relay performances.
USF's men turned in several of the top performances on the track, led by Jonny Cheney's win in the 400 meters (49.74). Freshman Micah Holien added another standout day by placing second in the 60 meters (7.09) and helping anchor a Division II ranked 4x400 relay. In the hurdles, Collin Dingsor finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.39) and later contributed to USF's 'B' 4x400 squad that won the event in 3:25.56, a new DII No. 72 mark. The field events also delivered, as Andrew Edwards claimed first in the weight throw with a PR 19.28 meters and added a fourth-place finish in the shot put (15.02m). Luther Nesheim highlighted the jumps group with a PR 1.96m in the high jump, placing fourth and earning a new DII No. 61 ranking.
On the women's side, the Cougars posted a major day in the 800 meters as Emma Thomas won the event in 2:21.95, with Chloe Aanenson close behind in second (2:24.26 PR). USF added key points across the horizontal jumps, with Cadence Nuttbrock leading a deep long jump group by finishing fifth at 5.19m, while Kendra King placed fourth in the triple jump (11.11m). The women's 4x400 relays closed the meet with two strong efforts, including a third-place finish from the 'B' squad in 4:07.56, earning a new DII No. 66 ranking.
Overall, the meet provided another strong measuring stick for the Cougars as they continue building toward the heart of the indoor season, with top-end performances and depth across both programs showing up early.
