MARSHALL, MINN. – Emma Hertz had an NCAA DII provisional mark and set a school record in the discus to highlight the performances by the University of Sioux Falls Women's and Men's Team performances at Mustang Twilight which was hosted by Southwest Minnesota State on Wednesday.

The USF Women's Team totaled four titles as they finished second in the women's team points with 63 (nine events) points. USF Men's Team took third with 23 points while USF was third in combined points at 86.

Hertz leads Women's Team with two titles
Hertz continued her impressive spring outdoor season by winning two throwing events on Wednesday as she captured a title in the shot put by throwing 14.75 meters (48'4 ¾ feet) and then tossing the discus a school record 51.57 meters or 169 feet 2 ½ inches. She was also fifth in the hammer throw.

Also for USF in the shot put, Kourtney Rozeboom was seventh at 11.95 meters (39-2 ½ feet) while Kayla Andersen was eighth at 11.89 meters (39-0 1/4 feet). In the discus, Andersen was seventh at 40.50 meters (132 10 ½ feet) while Bailey Rudebusch took eighth in 38.54 (126-5 ½). Also in the discus, MacKenzie Bengtson was 10^th at 36.56 meters (119-11 ½ feet) with Rozeboom finishing 12^th at 35.51 meters (116-06 feet) and Ally Welch, 14^th at 28.61 meters (93-10 ½ feet).

In the hammer throw, USF's Amber Cook took second (48.15 meters – 157-11 feet) while Jaimie McNamee was third (47.55 meters – 156-0 feet), Hertz, fifth (44.45 meters) and Andersen, sixth (44.15 meters - 144-10 feet). Rozeboom was 10^th (40.40 meters – 132-06 feet), Welch, 17^th (31.78 meters – 104-03 feet), Bengtson and Carla Walquist, 18^th (31.60 meters – 103-08 feet). In the fourth throwing event, USF placed three in the top 11 with Rudebusch, fifth (31.49 meters – 103-03 feet) while Bengtson was 10^th (21.94 meters – 71-11 feet) and Welch, 11^th (20.61 meters – 67-07 feet).

Clara Paul picked up a victory in the long jump by going 5.02 meters (16-5 ¾ feet) while Mahli Strasser was third at 4.77 meters (15-7 ¾ feet) and Clara Leverich took fourth at 4.35 meters (14-3 ¼). Paul was also fourth in the triple jump at 10.80 meters (35-5 ¼ feet) with Leverich fifth at 9.46 meters (31-0 ½ feet).

USF's Taylor Stoltz won the women's high jump at 1.55 meters (5-01 feet).

In running events, Lexi Frank was fourth (13.36) with Cailey Banik, sixth (13.82) and Ahni Ruzsa, seventh (13.84) in the 100-meter dash.
Rusza (29.58) was sixth and Banik (30.02) in the 200-meter dash. In the 400-meter dash, Zoe Cigard took third (1:04.68).

In the 100 meter dash, USF had a third-place finish from Jonathan Rowe at 10.93 with Troy Petersohn finishing fourth at 11.18.

In the long jump, Casey Hackett was third (6.24 meters – 20-05 ¾ feet) and Xavier Scarlett was fifth (5.78 meters – 18-11 ¾ feet).

USF's Chandler Nelson was seventh in the shot put by throwing 13.78 meters (45-02 ½ feet). Nelson was also second in the discus at 48.83 meters (160-02 feet). Christian Gruschin was fourth at 46.80 meters (153-06 feet) and second in the hammer throw at 52.05 meters (170-09 feet).

Next, USF will compete on May 3-4 at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays at Howard Wood Field and on May 4 at the MSU Twilight in Mankato, Minn.
