BROOKINGS, SD – The University of Sioux Falls Women's Track and Field 4x800 meter relay broke a 20-year old record to highlight a series of top-10 program marks by the Cougars men's and women's teams at the SDSU Indoor Classic on Friday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Gracie Bucher clocked a school record 4x800 relay time of 9:28.09 for third place in the race. This squad bettered the 9:29.73 clocking of the 2002 team that included LaRae McDonald, Mary Fouberg, Melissa Ramos and Jill Kmetz.
"We knew before the race that the ladies had a shot at the record and everyone ran well and we had a great team effort," said USF Director of Track and Field
Doug Petersen, whose track and field squad will head to the NSIC Indoor Challenge on Saturday in Mankato, Minn. "We had many other outstanding efforts today including Khot (Juac) in the 3K, Morgan (Gehl) in the 5K and Dave (Ecker) in the 5K. All had honor roll efforts. We also had several personal best marks today and lots of great energy from this group," he said.
In the men's 5,000 meter run, junior
David Ecker clocked a 14:36.19 and finished ninth and fifth among NSIC runners. For the third time this year, he had a top-10 program mark with the fourth best 5K mark at USF as he improved he best time by 19 seconds. Junior
Aaron Voigt finished 24
th in 15:11.75 which ranks 10
th all-time and betters his better previous mark by nearly 14 seconds. Also in the race, sophomore
Micade Shumway was 33
rd in 15:23.99 and freshman
Avery Stanford 58
th in 16:38.17 as both runners had personal-bests.
Freshman
Morgan Gehl had another strong performance by clocking 17:38.55 in the 5,000 meter run and placed seventh as she established the second best-indoor 5K time in school history, just missing the top mark of Ashley Unruh of 17:36.35 in 2011. She now has top-10 program indoor marks in three events this year. In the same race, junior

th in 18:37.35 with the seventh best program mark in school history. Also for USF freshman

th in 19:29.82.
Freshman
Khot Juac led USF Women's Team in the 3,000 meter run as she clocked 10:26.47 to finish eighth and sixth among NSIC runners in a competitive field. In the noteworthy performance, Juac recorded the third best mark in USF's indoor history in the event. Freshman
Kayleigh Whipps was 16
th as she had a personal-best 3K of 10:48.23.
In the men's 3K,
Caleb Rivera was 18
th with a clocking of 8:44.91 which ranks ninth all-time in USF program history. Justin Steffensmeier was 36
th with a clocking of 9:06.62 while
Isaac Dold was 54
th in 9:36.85 and
Ashton Schnaser was 58
th in 9:59.36.
