VERMILLION, S.D. – The Cougar track & field team hit the road to participate in the USD Early Bird meet held in Vermillion, South Dakota. USF had 51 athletes participate in today's events with their top-25 athletes' results below.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Greta Snaza placed 27th in the women's pole vault with a jump of 2.99 meters followed by Makenzie Adams in 34th with a jump of 2.54 meters.
Kamry Lindsey landed a 10th place finish in the women's discus with a throw of 42.88 meters while Shelby Svien and Mackenzie Bengtson followed close behind with 13th and 15th place finishes. Svien recorded a throw of 41.21 meters while Bengtson landed a 40.86 meter throw.
Olivia Baumberger finished in the top-five of the javelin throw with a toss of 42.85 meters and a fourth place finish followed by Davis Guetterman with a throw of 30.18 meters and a 23rd place finish.
Karlee Simmons finished eighth in women's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:20.27.
Annika Aho locked in a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17.82 while Gracie Bucher finished 18th with a time of 2:24.26.
Sierra Stanton was the only runner for USF in the women's 400 meter hurdles and finished 22nd with a time of 1:10.42.
Khot Juac took home the first place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:32.56. Morgan Gehl and Cassidy O'Meara rounded out the top-five with times of 4:36.51 and 4:41.76. Jessica Lutmer finished eighth with a time of 4:44.92.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Tyler Hiatt led the Cougars in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.05 meters and a 17th place finish. Jaymeson Wolkow finished 22nd with a throw of 46.96 meters.
Hiatt landed a top-10 finish in the shot put with a throw of 16.94 meters and a sixth place finish. Wolkow followed suit with a 21st place finish and a throw of 14.10 meters.
Kade Bullion tagged an 18th place finish in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:21.85 followed by Isaac Dold in 25th with a time of 10:45.39.
Caleb Rivera clocked in a time of 1:55.16 in the mens 800 meter run while finishing eighth followed by Ben Morrison in 10th with a time of 1:56.52. Zach Matzner (15th) and Jakob Hanna (16th) finished with times of 1:56.97 and 1:57.10 while Miles Olofson rounded out the top-20 for the Coo with a 19th place finish and a time of 1:57.62.
Collin Dingsor finished 18th in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.05.
Micade Shumway landed in the top-five with a fifth place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:21.51.
David Ecker landed a fifth place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:56.83 followed by Aaron Voigt in eighth with a time of 4:01.25.
