MINOT, N.D. - Cougar Football drops to 3-2 on the year after falling to the Minot State Beavers, 26-22.
SCORING RECAP
Sioux Falls opened the game strong with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Camden Dean to Carter Slykhuis following an interception by Matt Goehring.
Dean connected with Travis Yohnke on a 15-yard score to put USF up 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Minot State responded with a 6-yard rushing touchdown before Nick Hernandez split the uprights for a 30-yard field goal to give The Coo a 16-7 in the second quarter.
Following a MSU touchdown at the end of the first half, USF headed to the locker rooms with a 16-14 lead.
Both teams failed to find the endzone in the third quarter, but Minot State found success in the fourth quarter with a touchdown and two field goals to put them up 26-16 before USF was able to make something happen offensively.
With time expiring, Dean connected with Slykhuis for a 7-yard touchdown to cut the Cougars loss to 26-22.

Camden Dean tallied 175-yards of total offense with 170-yards through the air with three passing touchdowns while completing 17-of-24 passes. Dean went 6-for-6 through the air in the first quarter with two scores.
Andy Henson led the Cougars with 13 tackles on the day with 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards. Cain McWilliams and Garret Hoffman also chipped in with 10 tackles apiece.
Matt Goehring recorded his third interception in three games along with a sack for a loss of 2-yards. Preston Yohnke and Mauloa Wells also added tackles for a total loss of four yards on the day.

Sioux Falls (3-2, 2-2 NSIC) will hit the road to take on #7 Minnesota State (5-0, 4-0) in Mankato, Minnesota next Saturday, October 5th at 2pm. USF will return home to host Concordia-St. Paul on October 12th at 1pm.
