USF Track and Field's Taryn Ceglowski, Jacob Morse and Zach Lundberg named All-Region by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS -- Three members of the University of Sioux Falls Track and Field squad have been named All-Region honorees for the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season as announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The USF honorees included senior All-American Zach Lundberg in the mile, and NCAA DII provisional qualifier Jacob Morse (ranks 17th nationally) in the 60-meter hurdles for the USF Men's squad.

Morse, a senior from Elizabeth, Colo., had two NCAA DII provisional marks and was second in the event at the NSIC Track and Field Championships. He set the USF school record in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.07 (another NCAA provisional mark) in winning the event at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 8. Lundberg, a senior from Omaha, Neb., led USF to the DMR title at the NSIC Track and Field Championships. He also placed second in the mile run and sixth in the 3,000 meters at the meet. He clocked a 4:08.54 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on Feb. 8 to earn the all-region honors and is third in the region while being ranked 23rd nationally.

For the USF Women's squad, Taryn Ceglowski, a junior from Salida, Colo., was named to the all-region team in the mile run. She just placed in three events at the NSIC Track and Field Indoor Championships. Ceglowski had her top time, which ranks second all-time in USF program history, at the NSIC Championships on Feb. 28 where she clocked a 4:56.80 which converts to 4:53.90 and ranks her 21st in DII.

A total of 1,614 athletes from 156 different institutions earned All-Region honors nationwide with 812 honorees coming from the men's side and an additional 802 from women's teams.  

To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their events in their respective region. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.

The eight regions used in NCAA DII are the Atlantic Region, Central Region, East Region, Midwest Region, South Region, South Central Region, Southeast Region and West Region. Also, only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for the award.
