Hertz, now a four-time NCAA DII All-American who prepped at Sioux Falls O'Gorman, registered a throw of 47-5 ¼ (14.46M) at the NCAA Championships. On Thursday, Hertz placed seventh in the weight throw with a school record mark of 62-1 ¼, which broke her throw of 61-11 or 18.87 meters, which was set at the Minnesota State Quad on Feb. 12, 2021 when she broke school records in both the shot put (52-2) and the weight throw. With her performance today, she gave USF another team point as the Cougars scored three overall at the championships.
As a result, Hertz made history as the first USF thrower to earn First Team All-American in both the weight throw (7
th place) and shot put (8
th place) in the program's DII history.
