Noah Christenson added to the lead with a sacrifice fly to right, bringing Edwards home. Ben Serie then hit another sacrifice fly to center, scoring Sehr for a 3-0 advantage.

Minnesota Crookston responded in the sixth when Connor Bushbaum doubled down the left-field line with two outs, and Josh Dykhoff followed with a two-run home run to center, narrowing the USF lead to 3-2.

The Cougars answered decisively in the seventh. Christenson singled to center, and Nolan Drossel placed a bunt single to put two runners on. Dominic Vogel doubled down the left-field line, scoring Christenson and sending Drossel to third. Serie came through with a two-run single to center, driving in both Drossel and Vogel. Edwards later added an RBI single down the left-field line, completing the four-run inning and extending the USF lead to 7-2.
