SIOUX FALLS- The University of Sioux Falls Indoor Track & Field squad got the most out of their tri-squad action on Saturday, with much of the squad partaking in the Ted Nelson Multi & Open, hosted by Minnesota State. IDTF also sent athletes to the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet (U. of South Dakota) and the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite (U. of Nebraska-Lincoln). Saturday's performances also included two school record marks from seniors Jacob Morse and Jaimie McNamee.
Ted Nelson Classic-
After weeks of setting personal records (PR) in the 60M Hurdles, Morse finally turned his PR into a school record, clocking in at 8.07 for first place. The Elizabeth, Colo. Native passed the previous IDTF record for USF of 8.13, set by Theodore Frid in 2017.
Only a week removed from setting a school record of 17.60m in the weight throw, McNamee struck again, shattering her own mark with a throw of 18.81m (61-08½), also being in the same place she originally broke the record previous set in 2014 by Marissa Whipple (57-02¾).
Included in the top five finishes for USF in their respective events included Jailah Brice-Moore, who finished with a time of 9.01 for fourth, as well as Emma Hertz with a shot put mark of 13.77m (45-02¼), also placing her at fourth.
Rounding out the athletes to earn placement points were Daniel Armstrong in the mile (seventh, 4:26.62) and Kanya Henderson in the 60M Dash (sixth, 7.77).
Frank Sevigne Husker Invite-
In the smallest of the three squads, only three distance runners went to the Beef State, with each running in the mile. Zach Lundberg led the way on the men's side, placing seventh with a time of 4:08.54. Billy Beseman finished 32nd, clocking in at 4:24.87.
On the women's side, Taryn Ceglowski impressed with her fifth-place time of 4:55.55, finishing behind only NCAA Division I athletes (of those running attached).
USD Dakota Reality Alumni Meet-
Of the top finishes in Vermillion included Taylor Stoltz in the high jump, placing fourth with a clearance of 1.64m (5-04.50).
