SIOUX FALLS- The University of Sioux Falls Indoor Track & Field squad had a very successful Saturday in Mankato, Minn., earning 17 placements in the Mark Schuck Open & Multis. Among the standout performances Saturday (Feb. 1) was school records by Kanya Henderson the 60 meters and Jamie McNamee in the weight throw. In the women's team race, USF finished third with 91 points. The Cougars claimed fourth in the men's team race with 65 points.

In the women's 60-meter dash, Henderson clocked a personal-best and school record mark of 7.68 as she claimed third place overall. In the women's weight throw, McNamee led two top-10 performances. McNamee tossed the instrument 17.60 meters (57-09) which set a USF school mark. Junior
Emma Hertz was 10th at 16.58 meters (54-04.75) while Kayla Anderson claimed 11th at 16.55 meters (54-03.5).
Junior Taryn Ceglowski was third in the mile, finishing with a time of 5:02.75. Ceglowski also emerged victorious in the 1K, clocking in at a time of 3:01.64. Freshman Annika Aho joined Ceglowski in the Top 8 in the 1K, running a time of 3:16.70 and placed eighth.
In the men's mile, three Cougars claimed placement points, with senior Daniel Armstrong placing fourth (4:25.57), sophomore David Ecker earning sixth (4:26.66), and sophomore Aaron Voigt finishing at eighth (4:29.40).Â
The USF Women's Team also placed two teams in the top seven of the 4x400-meter relay. The "B" team of Anniko Aho, Taryn Ceglowski, Cassidy O'Meara and Tianna Wald was fifth in 4:12.79. The USF "A" team of Mercy Oyadare, Emma Kenkel, Holly Mayers and Zoe Cigard was seventh in 4:13.26.
Also earning first in their respective event was senior Tristan Zawadzki, clearing the 4.85m (15-11) mark, an NCAA provisional mark. Also placing in the pole vault was sophomore Jake Persen who finished eighth with a 3.95m mark (12-11.5).
On the women's side of the pole vault, sophomore Carolyn Groeger earned fifth with a mark of 3.05 (10-0).
In the 200M Dash, the Cougars placed two in the top 8, with sophomore Kanya Henderson running a time of 25.97 for sixth-place. Sarah Troescher was seventh in the event by clocking a 26.07. On the men's side, sophomore Nate Andrusick finished with a time of 23.11, placing him at eighth.
Junior Emma Hertz took second in the shot put, making a divot at the 14.21 (46-07) mark.
Also, in the field portion of Saturday, senior Chandler Nelson had a pair of top five finishes. He was fifth in the weight throw at 16.26m (53-04.25). Finishing fifth in the shot put, Nelson had a mark of 15.17m (49-09.25). Also for the men's team, freshman Steven Minor was fourth in the high jump at 1.92m (6-03.5). The men's 4x400 meter relay (Jace Burma, Will Modjeski, Diego Jaimes and Dan Armstrong) finished ninth in 3:41.26.
Freshman Natalie Meyers claimed fourth in the women's long jump after marking at 5.22m (17-01.25).
Taylor Stoltz hit a height of 1.63m (5-04.25) in the high jump, earning her third. Senior Clara Paul finished 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.51m (34-05.75).
In the men's triple jump, Cooper Wood was fourth by going 13.56m (44-05.75) with Isaiah Dancy, seventh in 12.48m (40-11.25).
What's Next-
The Cougars will now have a week to prepare for another split-squad weekend, with one meet being the two-day, Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, hosted by Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., and the other being Minnesota State Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday.
