1997-1999 Men's Cross Country Teams

Under the leadership of USF Hall of Fame Coach Rich Greeno, the 1997, 1998 and 1999 University of Sioux Falls Men’s Cross Country teams secured three consecutive conference championships. The program had won five conference titles over seven seasons with the highlight of the three-peat being the only time Sioux Falls has done so in program history.

The team was led by USF Hall of Fame standout, Torry Zeller, when he clinched the 1998 individual title with a time of 27:07, becoming the second individual in school history to do so at that time. USF won the 1998 SDIC title by 10 points.

Throughout the three seasons, USF landed 21 national qualifiers with Zeller and Clint Wagner competing on the national stage all three years.

1999 team members: Chris Cox, Troy Engel*, Matt Groff, Ryan LeMasters, Brian Lowery*, Dustin Peterson*, Scott Stesney, Nick Strasser*, Clint Wagner*, Dan Wiltgen* and Torry Zeller* All three men’s cross country teams were led by Coach Rich Greeno+.
