Taylor Varsho became a key player on the USF Women’s Basketball team from 2013 to 2016 after transferring from Colorado State University.
Varsho helped lead USF to their first NCAA Tournament berth in program history and an NSIC Tournament Championship in 2016. The NSIC Player of the Year accumulated multiple all-conference awards including first team honors, NSIC All-Defensive Team, NSIC Tournament MVP and the NSIC South Division Player of the Year. She was also named to the D2CCA Central Region First Team in 2016.
During her time with the Cougars, Varsho averaged 15.5 points per game while accumulating 1,379 career points over 89 games played. Going 209-of-483 (41.1 percent) from the field, 113-of-298 (36.8 percent) from behind the arc and 54-of-76 (70.7 percent) from the line, she sits 8th all-time in scoring and 6th with a season high of 585 points her senior year. Varsho also recorded three games with 30 points for the Cougars.
The Chili, WI, native holds eight top-10 school records and claims the top spot in 3-pointers made in a season with 113 in 2015-16. Varsho closed out her career with USF averaging 5 rebounds per game for a career total of 445 rebounds, while averaging 3.2 assists per game for 285 career assists and recording 160 steals. In the classroom, Varsho was named a two-time NSIC All-Academic Student-Athlete and was also named to the University’s Dean's List. Varsho graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education before obtaining her master’s in administration.
Varsho now serves as the principal of Pittsville High School in Pittsville, WI. Taylor and her boyfriend, Nate, reside in Chili, WI, with their dog Albert.
