Kevin Flegner played a key role for the Cougars from 1993 to 1995 after transferring from Northeastern Illinois University.

A 6-foot guard from Randolph, WI, Flegner averaged 20.2 points across 58 games playing for the men’s basketball team. He ended his career with 1,172 career points and 279 assists while setting a single season school record during the 1994-95 season with 761 points. During the 1994-95 season, Flegner was named the Sioux Falls Athlete of the Year and finished as the 3rd leading scorer in the NAIA while earning All-American Honorable Mention honors. To this day, Flegner still holds the single season school record and sits 24th in all-time scoring.

The two-time All-SDIC First Team student-athlete shot 404-of-847 from the field for a 47.7 career shooting percentage while going 90-of-226 (39.8 percent) from beyond the arc and 274-of-353 (77.6 percent) from the free throw line. Flegner pulled down 262 rebounds for Sioux Falls averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.

After graduating from the University of Sioux Falls in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education along with a minor in coaching, Flegner went on to obtain a master's in educational leadership from Marian College in 2004.

Flegner currently serves as an athletic director at Fond du Lac High School in Wisconsin. He works in education as a teacher, coach and administrator in Wisconsin. He resides in Fond du Lac with his wife, Cyndie, and their three daughters, Kaylee, Jenna and Brooke.
